Kenworth Truck Company announced that the owner of AJR Trucking, Jack Khudikyan, has ordered 10 Kenworth K270E and 15 Kenworth T680E battery electric vehicles (EV) from Inland Kenworth – Montebello.
Jack Khudikyan had a say regarding the largest Kenworth EV order. He mentioned, “Several years ago, we made the decision to begin adding trucks that run on alternative fuels to reduce our carbon footprint and to better assist our customers in meeting their sustainability goals…It’s important to do what’s right for the environment, and we’re on a mission to, one day, achieve net-zero emissions.”
This means that the order has a strong initiative directed towards raising awareness of how important environmental sustainability is. Since 2016, AJR Trucking, alongside MDB Transportation, has been pioneers in adding compressed natural gas (CNG) powered Kenworth T680s, intending to reduce greenhouse gas emissions contamination. Today, the company is a huge step ahead.
The Practical Use of Kenworth
AJR Trucking announced that K270Es and Kenworth T680Es will be used for expanding its scope of operations. The US trucking company plans to provide postal trucking services in farther areas in Los Angeles, including the Port of Los Angeles. Considering that such a quantity of these novel and sustainable electric vehicles may become a burden for AJR, the trucking business took the initiative of receiving voucher incentives with the help of the California Air Resources Board (CARB) Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP).
About Kenworth EVs
The EVs that Jack Khudikyan purchased are of extraordinary importance for the sustainable development of the US trucking industry.
The K270E electric powertrain is aimed to provide trucking services of delivery, pickup, and regional short-haul operations. Batteries for this EV include packs of 141kWh, 209kWh, and 282kWh with an operating range of 150-200-mile.
The T680E day cab/tractor/straight truck is aimed to provide trucking services of drayage applications, delivery, pickup, and regional haul operations. Its gross vehicle weight is 82,000 lb., which assumes a 150-mile operating range.
